David Carrington is an internationally recognised expert in impact investment. He is a non-executive director of the Impact Investing Institute in the UK and was previously a founding member of the Board of Big Society Capital and a member of the Supervisory Board of Triodos Bank. He is Chair of Civil Society Media. David is an Adviser with Giving Architects, working with us on client projects and impact investment initiatives.
David is an experienced non-executive Board member. He is a member of the Board of the Impact Investing Institute, Chair of Civil Society Media and a trustee of the Finance Innovation Lab in the UK. He was a member (and Vice Chair) of the Supervisory Board of Triodos Bank NV in The Netherlands from 2009-2017 and a Non-Executive Director of Big Society Capital in the UK from when it was first set up in 2012 until 2017.
David has worked since 2001 as an adviser and consultant on the development of social impact investing, the governance of charities and social purpose organisations, and the promotion of personal philanthropy. His clients have included endowed and corporate foundations, individual social investors and philanthropists, the UK Government, private wealth managers, the Big Lottery Fund, the European Foundation Centre (EFC), and the Global Impact Investment Network (GIIN).
